January?

It's the last day of January 2012 and it's been mad warm outside. As in 61 degrees today. Weirdo weather. But we'll take it!!

Today was crazy busy. Yesterday was pretty busy, too. Throw in a baptism weekend with oodles of friends/family in town the days before those two days and I'm suddenly completely wiped! And Hadley's been a very good girl as of late. So if I am suddenly incoherent and not making sense, let's blame the fatigue. So how about we play catch up?

Last week - Morgan battled a fever on and off from Monday on. It got lower and lower but never went away until yesterday. She had a great weekend playing with all of her family and it made me really wish that we/they lived closer so it wasn't just on occasion that she got to play with her cousins.

Last Wednesday marked Hadley's start with the Baby Wise program. It's a schedule of feeding/wake time/sleep that helps babies regulate their schedules so they sleep better at night (ps. that's a nutshell. I'm too tired to go into it which is funny, b/c I should have more energy since the program is totally working. Check out the paragraph Amazon has so nicely put at the bottom of their page to sell the book. So...it was frustrating at first b/c she wasn't quite getting the evening routine and was still getting up 2x/night. Well...the past two nights she's only gotten up 1x/night! The first night was rough on the 'girls' but totally worth the sleep I got. I'm hoping we have a repeat performance tonight but am not convinced that she's going to be perfect right off the bat. We shall see. She's taken to the day time routine beautifully but I'm not surprised since she had a very similar schedule anyway. I also am finding that my milk supply is increasing quite a bit and I am getting more milk than I thought I was when pumping. I'll keep you posted. I just wanted more sleep and since several of my friends have had amazing success with this program, I'm in at least to try. I'm glad I'm plugging through when it's tough but totally worth it.

Poor Miss Morgan. :-/ I mentioned she's had a fever that won't quit and then yesterday was the first day she didn't have one. Hadley went in to the doctor for reflux issues and I had Dr. Mueller look at Morgan's ears and listen to her lungs as she's also had a cough that won't quit and I didn't want her joining the ranks of walking pneumonia that seems to be running rampant around here. Low and behold, she had lots of wax in her ears and the dr couldn't even see her membranes. I guess she must not have thought much of it...until we got back from our walk last night. Morgan started fussing during dinner and wouldn't eat. She started to say her ear hurt and became kind of whiney. I believed her b/c of what Dr. M saw (wax) and thought that she had irritated it while looking and then Morgan putting her finger in her ear...within an hour Morgan was inconsolable and hysterically in pain. We managed to get mineral oil in her ears (per dr.'s recommendation) and get her to sleep by 9pm, full of whatever over the counter stuff we could give her. She slept through the night and I made an appt for her to see the ENT as soon as possible today. Thankfully she woke up happy and ok today as I was terrified we'd be racing to the ER as soon as she woke up and realized the pain she was still in.

So I cautiously prepped her that we were going to the doctor so he could "take the ickies" out of her ear and she seemed willing as long as those dang fruit snacks were waiting for her at the end. That kid will do ANYTHING for fruit snacks. Silly child. :) Long story short, she was a super brave kid and even when they were strapping her into the velcro body suit to hold her whole little body still, she was scared but didn't cry until the loud vacuum thing went in her ear. Then Dr. Dawson said it wouldn't work b/c her wax was too hard/big so he used some other pliers type thing that was so super tiny. Morgan cried then, but I think it was b/c she was more scared than anything. She was so brave. She could have thrashed around like a crazy kid but didn't. She said thank you to the doctor and nurses when she left. I was beaming and very proud of her. It turns out she has a raging left ear infection which leads me to be shocked she didn't have the insane hysterics of pain earlier than last night.

I'm proud of my girls. They're both currently on meds. Morgan's THRILLED she gets to take medicine. She loves it.

I'm tired so I'm going to stop. I have SO many things I want to blog about. Baptism...etc. Too tired to remember them all now. I wish I had a word doc in my head that I could hit save when I make lists on it. Otherwise I lose them only to think about them when I don't have a real live pen/keyboard at hand.

Off to play valentine projects. :)

Ok, we need an update.

Family update 101, here we go. It's been a while and with Hadley growing and changing so fast, I need to remember to post what she's doing (at least semi-closely to how I posted with Morgan. Hadley, when you're old enough to read this, forgive your mommy, sweetie, as having twogirls is a whole new ball game in terms of time management which I only hope you have the joy of learning some day. :)

Let's start on the tiny person end...

Hadley

  • Now typically gets up 2x/night for feedings. Once in a while 3x in a night - but we don't like those and are glad they're not too often.
  • Has a sort of schedule. She usually goes down for bed around the time Morgan does and doesn't take too much to do so (thank you conditioning with music, low lighting, nursing, and routine). She gets up for the day anywhere from 7-8am but usually closer to 7.
  • She watches and looks for things/people. Right now I happen to be her favorite b/c I have the "goods" but she enjoys watching the rest of her family members too. She also likes big dark things against a light background.
  • Hadley doesn't particularly care for upcloseandpersonal loving from her sister, unfortunately, but usually b/c it's loud and inyourface. :) It's Morgan's way of showing her sister she really loves her (which she says all the time and tells us that Hadley loves her too...sweet) so Hadley will have to get used to it and Morgan will keep working on toning it down just a tad. xo
  • Hadley spits up more than Morgan did. It's pretty predictable for the first 15ish minutes after a feeding. Sometimes she surprises us though, and that's always a treat. ;-/
  • Hadley is a supplemented baby. She gets 95%+ breast milk but once in a while, dang it, she's just still hungry and needs an extra ounce. I don't have a giant freezer stash and I'm pretty sure I can still count my frozen ounces on 2 hands. That said, we are not making her starve and we are giving her an ounce of formula at a time after a feeding if it's been apparent that she hasn't had enough. She takes the bottle well for Adam now.
  • Hadley is officially in cloth diapers (did I mention this earlier?) as of last weekend. Between that and her actually growing, she is now fully into 3 month clothes.
  • This past Friday (2 days ago), Hadley weighed in at 9lbs 12oz and was 22" long. Yahoo! She's growing well and there are no longer concerns there.
  • Hadley sleeps superduperawesomewell in the swing. She is also sleeps well in her vibrating/music lamb seat (you know, the one we spent $50 on and Morgan hated?).
  • Adam was pretty sure that during some play mat time, Hadley reached up and hit the giraffe a few times today. I was wondering if she did this the other day too, but I'm a wishful thinker and sometimes think I imagine things I want to happen. ;-)
  • She still takes a paci but much of the time does not want it. By not want it, I mean lips pursed, mad face on.
Morgan
  • Morgan is a HOOT lately. This child makes us laugh all the time.
  • Her language floors me/us. She routinely uses 10+ word sentences and tells us all sorts of things I am amazed she knows/remembers/etc. I'd say we understand her about 95% of the time. She follows 2-step directions well but usually needs a reminder or two for more directions b/c there are way too many cool things around to distract us.
  • She is two. I have to remind myself sometimes that she is two. Last weekend, Morgan and I went to a birthday party and I tried to get her to play with the kids while I had some adult time (Adam stayed home with Hadley b/c parents could stay or leave the party but since all the other parents stayed, I stayed too). I became frustrated with her when she didn't want to play with the almost 1y/os or 3+y/os (there weren't really any 2y/os there) and I felt super guilty afterward. She may be able to tell us her letters, letter sounds, count like crazy, use very good grammar, etc, but I have to remember her social skills are not there yet and she's two. I'm working on it, honey, but when you're so smart...I forget.
  • Morgan's into feelings very much and reads us well. She will ask if we're mad at her (which most of the time we're not :) and enjoys surprising us with things (Adam told me while I was upstairs putting Hadley to bed, Morgan said, "I have a surprise for you!" and brought him her stepping stool. Surprise!)
  • Morgan has really enjoyed talking about Jesus lately. We now routinely say prayers for meals and bedtime. She enjoys this immensely and is proud of herself when she remembers all the words on her own and while saying them with us. The other night she interrupted our prayers to tell me, "Mommy, Jesus loves me." She also has asked to go to church to talk to Jesus during the week. I'm eager for her to start Sunday school but I don't know if she can do that in fall or if she has to wait another year after until she's three. I don't quite know how to handle an Oct. birthday for that sort of thing...
  • Her imagination is going wild. She enjoys doing lots of things with her babies and toys that she sees us doing with Hadley. Speaking of...She had me practically rolling on the floor the other day b/c she had the boppy pillow (which she loves using when I'm not) and her seahorse doll. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "Feeding my seahorse." She then proceeded to put the seahorse up to her chest and reposition it so it was "right there." I asked her if she wanted one of her bottles but she said she was good. She then hunkered down to watch TV much like I do when feeding Hadley. Nice.
  • Morgan has enjoyed putting Adam in time out this past week. Most of the time we don't know why and it's rather random, but hilarious nonetheless. She herself hasn't been in time out for several weeks that I can recall.
  • Swimming lessons is going GREAT for Morgan. She's doing an excellent job of waiting her turn, listening to the teacher, and remembering what she learns. I'm so glad she enjoys the water and is the next Schmidt Fish.
Melissa
  • Life is busycrazynuts as a mommy of twogirls. That said, I love it. I love having two of them and I enjoy thinking ahead to the future (while not wishing away time now) to seeing them playing together and growing as sisters. Ah...I can't get enough of my babies.
  • I'm learning not to whine back to Morgan when she whines to me. This is harder than it looks. Adam is a great coach.
  • I enjoy cooking with Morgan when Adam's around to take Hadley or she's sleeping. Lots of snitching usually takes place although Morgan totally grossed me out the other day when she dipped her finger in a raw egg and tasted it before I could get to her. Ack.
  • I don't know how to say this, but I don't miss work. I just don't. I miss my friends there and seeing those people but the work part of it? Nope. Maybe it's b/c I'm not as attached to my students/caseload b/c they're new to me this year. Or maybe it's b/c Hadley's a decent baby (she still has her moments) and I feel like I've got this SAHM thing going (although I need to build in some work out time, for reals. This is getting bad, stop making cookies with Morgan, self.). I think it also helps that I can be much more social with Hadley since her feedings are predictably at least 3 hours b/w if we're out and about, sometimes longer. So, sorry work, but I just don't miss you right now.
Adam
  • Adam is amazing as a father of twogirls. He is still one of Hadley's greatest fears when she's fighting sleep as he gets her to sleep very well. He and Morgan have formed a special bond the past few weeks since I have to spend so much time feeding Hadley. It helps that she's at an age where she is learning to play games and take turns. She routinely asks Adam to play games with her downstairs which include "Let's go Fishing," "Ants in the Pants," and "Don't break the ice."
  • He's busy with work too and his first week of travel is currently my first week back to work. I'm terrified.
  • Adam's only been able to enjoy his new snowblower one time this season and even then, it was only a few inches of snow. Sigh. I'm sure sometime in the future he'll be on the other end.
  • Other than that, he's been going to the Y at lunch and playing volleyball weekly (which I get to do on Tuesday to fill in!).
That's where we're at. Busy busy bees in the Schmidt household. More soon.

Just Two.

There are two of us who started this family, Adam and I.

Morgan is "just two" years old (as she likes to respond when asked how old she is).

We have two dogs, Maddie and Jessie.

We call two states home - Iowa and Wisconsin (I don't know if the latter will ever go away as "home").

We have two vehicles, two jobs, two carseats for each girl, etc. The list goes on.

And now we've been blessed to have two girls. Two beautiful, healthy, thriving girls.

And you know what? I sort of can't believe it myself as I've always been on the fence for wanting 2 or 3 children, but I'm completely at peace with having two beautiful babies. I don't know if 3 is in the cards...actually, as of right now, I DON'T feel like three is in the cards for us unless God's plan says otherwise (hello, surprise baby! - which is what it would be. Sheesh, I'm not pregnant. You'd have to start calling me Mary). I don't feel that Hadley's current age/dependency is playing a huge role in this gut feeling even though I really really miss having more than 5-6 hours of sleep a night. :) That's a given. More so the fact that I'm super comfortable with having the two of them and feeling whole is what's driving this post. I've told Adam this countless times in the past week or two (which I'm sure means he's sick of hearing about it) but it's important to me to feel this way about this issue.

That said, in 3 years when Morgan starts kindergarten (what!?!? nuh uh, she's going to be a toddler forever! wait...maybe not.), I may get baby fever...but for right this minute, our family feels whole. I could be ok with this. Adam's always wanted two so he's good.

For now, I love you, twogirls, and I'm so thankful for you both. :)

Another rough one, folks...

I was going to post after Hadley finally went down for bed last night after a rather fussy later afternoon/evening but decided against it b/c I was feeling somewhat negative after all that fuss in my face all day so I didn't.

Then last night happened.

I'm exhausted and should be sleeping. I think I got somewhere between 3-4 hours of sleep last night in tiny chunks, a half hour of which was on Hadley's floor at the ready to shove that damn nuk back in her mouth. No kidding I woke up, arm asleep, looked at her sleeping form, practically ran to my bed, and then heard her fuss b/c she needed her nuk. GAH.

To be fair, I think at her last feeding her tummy was really bothering her.

Now I'm sitting here trying to decide what to do - wake her and keep her on the schedule we seem to have fallen into (which is a decent one), or go back to sleep and let her go as long as she goes so we can both sleep...? There has GOT to be a baby ticker someplace that tells you the right thing to do and/or what's wrong with babies and how to remedy each situation. I'd pay for it. Seriously.

And I was not alone last night - lots of babies were up and their mommies posting on FB about it. Hang in there, friends.

Here's what I'm going to do - put the dogs away, check the wood stove, and crawl back in bed with an alarm set for a half hour from now and then it's "wake up Hadley" time. If that's wrong, I'm too delirious to now the difference. Sigh. Poor Adam. He put in his time last night too and has to go to work today. Debbie Downer post complete.

Photo Shoot SUCCESS!!

Woah, no posts for days and then two in one day. :) I should actually be getting ready for my and Hadley's lunch date and work visit but this sounded like more fun and her bath can wait til later? :) Yup. Especially since she's taking a nice nap in her bassinet while swaddled and it's not evening. Score.

We went back on Wednesday to try the newborn photo shoot again and BOOM. Success. Super success, actually. I don't have the CD yet and not all of the pictures are done, but I've seen some of the finished ones (so have you, if you have access to Facebook) and they're exactly what I hoped for. We never could have gotten these photos with Morgan...she was too fussy a baby at this stage. I'm so excited to see the rest of them and after a good two hours in the "studio" (she takes the pictures at her house), we were pretty pleased with the final product. To top it off, Morgan was an absolute peach while waiting her turn and I didn't have to worry about her at all. Perfection.

In other news, Hadley has slept her last night in our room and will be transitioned to her own big girl room this evening. I am eager and scared for this - eager b/c it's HARD to sleep with an infant in your room and scared - I feel like there is a good possibility that I will be up/down the stairs to her room 75x and get little/no sleep. Oh well - one must be trained before life and sleep improve. :)

Ok, game on - it's time to feed the monkey, seriously down some water (I suck at this while nursing), and get going. It's cold and snowy outside and the tiny one is holding all my clothes hostage in my room and I'm freezing in jeans and a tank top. Happy Friday (the 13th, eek). :)

I want to talk to Jesus

Two mornings ago, I went to get Morgan out of bed and ready to go to daycare and one of the first things she said to me was, "Mama? I want go talk to Jesus." She sort of blew me away as that's not what I was expecting out of her mouth first thing in the morning. I wracked my brain for a fast way to let her know that she can talk to him anytime, anywhere, whenever she wants while still let her know that he can hear her while she can't SEE him. So I told her something along those lines and she just said that she wanted to go to Jesus' house and I said I'd see what I could do for later that day.

I kept this little tidbit in the back of my mind and get this - she asked to go to "Jesus' house" (church) again later that day. And she also wanted to talk to him, too. She didn't say what she wanted to talk to him about, but just that she wanted waffles and blueberries (a common church breakfast since we're always running late and she can eat that in a snacker container at church) and wanted to talk to Jesus.

I remembered to tell this to Adam the next evening (what? I forgot to tell him something amidst the chaos that is the evening? no...) and his immediate response was, "Oh. I hope she's ok." which was something that never dawned on me. Of course this is one of my most greatest of fears - that something would be wrong with one of my babies and they would have to endure some sort of terrible illness. I'm guessing she's just starting to understand and put together that we say prayers, go to church, talk to Jesus that way, share our money with Jesus (she loves to put the offering in the plate) and all that goes with it (minus the whispering - she's lost that skill at church only ;-) so hopefully that's it and not some divine intervention where something's wrong and she's talking to Jesus about it without filling us in.

Now that I said that, Adam will read it later and tell me I'm worrying too much and putting too much into it. Likely the case. But it's sweet to me that she thinks about Jesus, can say her prayers at night, and is an active member of our church (it was cute - last Sunday we were saying the Lord's prayer at church and she was listening and right after everyone said "Amen," she almost shouted, "AMEN!")

I love my girls and I love that they know and will grow to love Jesus too. We are truly a blessed family.

Photo Shoot Failure

Gah. I can hardly blog about it b/c it brings such great stress to me (worse than any work that I've had to deal with this year...this is ridiculous). We were to have Hadley's infant photo shoot today at 11am and after much craziness that was this morning (Morgan's first real swimming lessons, which she missed by exactly a half hour - more on this in a few), getting everything packed up for the photo shoot, getting everyone clean and pretty and out the door on time...only to have Hadley scream any time we laid her down to be photographed. Pair that with a 2 y/o who wanted nothing to do with being cooperative unless threatened or bribed (she did better with bribes, note to self) and we had a recipe for a mommy meltdown.

I managed to hang on and not melt down completely although I was really close. We didn't get a single picture of the family (which is the shot we were attempting first, fail.) without Hadley crying/screaming. We're trying again Wednesday and if that's not a go, I don't know if I can waste any more of the photographer's time. She's so great and I'm sure she has other things to do than wait for a tiny baby to behave...although that's not really it either.

And what the hey, tiny baby? Who DOESN'T want to be photographed in a super-soft blanket in an old, beautiful piece of luggage? With a bow in your hair to match your sister's? And maybe with a very itchy tutu on? (that was later tossed)

So we're trying again on Wednesday. I have low expectations so hopefully I'll be surprised. Morgan will be given full access to her iXL and/or the iPod so she's good and quiet while Hadley gets settled.

Speaking of Morgan, a backwards Yay-Boo (so a Boo-Yay) to round out this post...

Boo - I'm so O.V.E.R. this drama queen thing she's got going on...ANY time something makes her potentially upset, she starts this whole "hyperventilation" thing where she starts breathing fast and loud like she's going to start crying and it's 100% fake with a capital FAKE. Drives me insane. I'm going to be working on my super-ignoring skills b/c my verbal acknowledgement to squash it isn't working. Gah. Drama queen.

YAY - Morgan was to go to her appropriate age/level swimming lessons today at 9:30am. She and Adam barely made it out the door on time (since I was trying to get the fuss bucket ready for failpictures) and about a half hour later (they stopped to get dog Rx before lessons), I got a text saying the class was 9:00-9:30...she missed it. I was devastated...but came to find later that the awesome instructor took her with the next class which was a level higher than the one she was supposed to be in...and she was AWESOME. She waited in line with the other kids, tried what her teacher told her to do, and overall was amazing when she very well could have not been. Adam said in the beginning, the teacher went around and asked each child to state a pool rule. She got to Morgan and asked, "Do we walk or run by the pool?" Morgan emphatically responded with "RUN!" but later when telling me all about swimming lessons, had changed her tune and very emphatically told me "Not run, we WALK. Not run." She never ceases to amaze me with how grown up she is getting to be and Hadley is making it more apparent how "big" Morgan is in so many ways.

That said, she had some fine moments today where I considered selling her to the zoo.

Lucky lucky me today to have such great family members...we're thankful to have Grandma Susie here to help out with the girls. I'm thankful for Adam for letting me nap for over 2 hours today as I was way overdue for some extra sleep. I'm thankful for Morgan as she makes me smile so many times during the day and be so glad how she's growing. And I'm thankful for Hadley for her infant beauty...good baby nature (except for pictures! Gah, mom!)...and reminding me not to take her teeny tiny-ness for granted for a minute b/c I am really understanding how fast the time has gone with Morgan and it's going to be the same or worse for her b/c life is even busier now. I'm a lucky gal.

And....we supplemented.

Let me preface this post with a jog down memory lane...with Morgan, if you recall, I was terrified of supplementing for a myriad of reasons - I was sure it would decrease my supply, I thought Morgan would like bottles/formula more than breast milk and be "broken," we'd had such a hard go of it with nursing I didn't want to break that, and probably the most important reason - I felt like I would have failed her if I wasn't an exclusive breast feeder. That said, once we got over that hump with Morgan a few weeks (or was it a little longer?) after she started daycare, I was more ok with it. Ok, back to now...

So as I've posted, Hadley's been rather fussy in the evening hours (usually by around 4:30pm) until we get her into bed at some point between 8:30-10pm. She seems like she's in pain, as she arches her back and screams so hard that she occasionally sort of stops breathing/crying, zones out a bit, and then works her way back to being more alert (yes, I'm bringing this up to the nurse tomorrow at her weigh in). The first few times she did this, we were terrified. We chalked it up to belly issues (gas, whatnot, like Morgan) and have been giving gas drops (they temporarily help, but it might be b/c she likes the flavor), burping like crazy (also helps a little but not fully), and trying all sorts of positioning and whatnot. Music helps, oddly enough, once she hears it through her screaming.

SO...last night I took my turn with her while Adam put Morgan to bed. It had been maybe 1.5-1.75 hours since her last feeding and only 2 hours for the feeding before. She was screaming like a crazy person and trying to do the not-breathing-I'm-screaming-so-hard thing when it became painfully apparent that she was STARVING. She was trying her best through her screams to gnaw my arm off so frantic me, I warmed up one of the 1/2oz bottles of breast milk (pumping - not going so well...it's such a meager amount it almost doesn't pay), got it ready for Adam when he came back down (which feels like 10 years when he's not coming for very good reason), and he gave it to her.

This time with the bottle, there wasn't hardly any choking and she worked her way through it in about 3 minutes. I didn't want to wreck the next nursing with formula, so I quick nursed her and we had formula ready to offer in case she was still hungry. She must have had at least another 1/2oz, putting her at 1oz(ish) more than the nursing I was able to provide. Shortly after that, I put on her jammies and then took her into our room (where she's still sleeping in her bassinet) and bam. She was OUT. I laid her down which has been a trick sometimes lately and she didn't even move.

Needless to say, here are my thoughts.

  1. She's not getting enough by the end of the day. She routinely goes 3-4 hours b/w feedings during the day and sleeps quite a bit. (I need to go wake her after this post, shocker). Since she's only had ~3 feedings by the time 5pm rolls around, I'm guessing she just needs more. (all based on one night's worth of trying things...which means none of them will work tonight.)
  2. I've tried waking her to feed her more often during the day and yesterday she flat out REFUSED to nurse when I woke her at 3 hrs to feed. Refused. I put her back to bed and she woke up on her own 2 minutes after the financial guy got here. Nice.
  3. I have no problem supplementing after nursing if need be. I'm only going to do it if she needs it, such as in the evening when she's apparently starving.
That said, I just heard a squeak and I'm going to roll with it. Then off to get some deals at HyVee before a neighbor comes to visit and then Grandma Susie is here for several days. Busy busy household!

Stay tuned for more feeding/screaming/baby woes adventures. :)

Dear Sleep....I sure do miss you.

Sigh. Wish for one thing, another comes up to wish away. I wished for Hadley to gain weight so they could stop doing testing on her and we could stop worrying about her, and she obliged. THEN, the little food monger decided to take it to the extreme and eat every 2-3 hours at night which means 2-3 feedings every night which makes for tired parents, especially mom. So...super glad she's growing...not so happy about the decrease in sleep (hello, walking zombie mom/dad). zzzzzzzzzz...I'd love to be sleeping right now but since of course Hadley's sleeping like a ... well ... baby, I need to shower so I don't smell like yesterday's chlorine when the financial advisor guy comes over later.

Speaking of chlorine, yesterday was the start of another round of swimming lessons for Morgan. She was SOOOO excited and told everyone and their brother on her way in to the Y that she was "doh-ing to simmin' lessons" and told them her name "My name Moh-din" like I told her to tell her swimming teacher and "I doh in by mySELF!" b/c that was the original plan for her to go in by herself so I could stay out with Hadley. That's not how it all went down, however. Morgan was ready, but since she was the only >2y/o that was signed up for that time slot, they grouped her together with the little kids (6 months-2yrs). Not happy me. She's taken that class at least 5 times and we're so over it. It's boring and perfect for the little ones, but Morgan's swimming skills are beyond that now and we want her to learn real swimming skills she'll use later. SO...we participated in the class (so thankful I brought her floaties so she could swim alone with me right next to her) and then I promptly emailed the Y contact for swimming and signed her up for the Saturday class so she can be with other kids her age learning harder skills. Woo! Also, props go out to Hadley for being awesome in her carseat while I had to be in the water with Morgan. I totally forgot that there was Y daycare available, but in hindsight I'd rather her not be there anyway b/c I am scared of germs all over my behbeh.

Let's see, what else. Oh, a Morganism I don't want to forget (although we went through a list of three or four before bed last night that were hilarious, thus I can't remember them).

(Preface - Adam was giving Morgan crazy kisses with a whiskery face on her next/shoulder)
Morgan - "Daddy! No! Don't div me tazy tisses...on my net...you mate my...belly...sad!"

What. That kid is hilarious. It took her forever to get the entire sentence out b/c she was trying to figure out just how to say that she didn't want him to do that anymore.

Another one - Morgan is a fruit snack snob and hog. She must have the Gerber ones or we get "I don't wite deez." (don't like these). So...Morgan was eating her snob snacks and I was having some of hers that she "doesn't wite" and it went a little something like this...

Adam - "Morgan, can I have one?"
Morgan - "NO, you can't have one. Deez ah MY fooot nats."
(later, when Adam had gotten his OWN fruit snacks)
Morgan - "Daddy, you share wit me? I have a fooot nat?"
Me - "Morgan you don't like that kind."
Morgan - "I have one?"
(gives one to her)
Morgan - chew...chew..."I don't wite deez." Spit in hand.
GAH. (even though I was laughing)

Ok, must feed the tiny one before the financial advisor guy comes for signatures for something. I don't know. Ask Adam why.
