She's sick. Morgan's sick. :-( The poor thing has a very runny nose that she does NOT like to be wiped or suctioned. She is very good at moving her head out of the way when she knows it's coming and even immediately following the start of nose attention. This terrible runny nose also makes for some bad coughing at times. We've been watching her closely and she doesn't have a fever, she's still really happy (save for anything to do with her nose), and is eating/peeing/pooing like normal. We called the Ask A Nurse hotline today to make sure that we weren't waiting too long or anything like that, and for the millionth time this weekend, we were told it sounds like Morgan just has a bad cold. The nurse gave us things to watch for and just do the regular elevated head while sleeping, humidifier blasting, and suction to keep her nose clear. So that's what we're going to do. I still feel bad though b/c it's so pathetic to hear her breathing that way knowing we can't do anything about it. :-/
We had a busy weekend! It was my birthday on Friday and kind of last-minute, we decided to go to the Quad Cities for dinner. We invited a ton of friends, not really sure who would come on such short notice. Come to find that there were lots of people ready and willing to go as our group was up to 17 by the time dinner rolled around (included 4 kids) and it was a great time! The drive back was a little tricky as the roads were glass for a ways, but great fun! Then Saturday evening we had our annual Chili Cook off at some friends' house and Morgan did very well (again, save for nose attention) and we went through her normal bedtime routine and she slept there while we had a good time (Adam had a super good time with all the beer pong). Tonight we went to a Super Bowl party for a bit and then headed home for a normal bedtime routine for Morgan before the start of the work week. I'm guessing by the weather forecast that we'll have another odd week b/c I may be involved in either an early out, late start, or snow day at some point this week. I hope it's one or both of the former 2 and not the latter of the three. I have WAY too much to do and catch up on (still) at work so that time away is awful for me.
Ok, battery on the laptop is dying and I'm too tired/lazy to plug it in. More soon...especially if there's a snow day. :-/
