38 week doctor appt (13 days)

Today was my 38-week doctor's appointment and it turns out (as I knew all along) that I DO have the coolest doctor ever and she checked me to see my progress when I asked. :) I was very happy to hear that I am now 70% effaced but was sad to hear that I have not dilated at all. Boo. But I suppose 1st-timers need to efface before they dilate usually (or so I've been told) so at least there's forward movement...but if we go 10% each week like we have the past 2 weeks, she's going to be very late!! Or so one would think. There's really no rhyme and reason to this part...which is why it's hard for my & Adam's linear thinking brains to wait for something we know could happen any time or need help happening if we run too late. Sigh. We're just SO excited!!

And a quick note to the baby:

Dear Baby,

Please stop pushing your foot out of my right side. It's not going to get you out of your tight little predicament any faster. In fact, all it's going to do is earn you a big poke back and an "ow" from your momma. If, by chance, you push hard enough (which you've been doing your best at today) to give me a stretch mark right on that same spot you keep poking, I might have to pay you back some day in a respectable mommy/daughter fashion that you might not like. In conclusion, PLEASE STOP!! (even though it means your moving, healthy, and doing ok which is something we want and pray for daily). The end.

Love, your mommy.
